Current, previous players from SCSU will partake in Germany public group camp

Svenja Voigt and Laura Kluge will play in a four countries competition toward the week’s end

ST. CLOUD — There are 28 players who have been welcome to an eight-day instructional course for the German ladies’ public group and two of the players have connections to the St. Cloud State group.

Laura Kluge and Svenja Voigt will participate in the instructional course.

Kluge, a 27-year-old from Berlin, played forward for the Huskies from 2017-21 and has played for Germany multiple times in the IIHF Big showdowns. Kluge plays for ECDC Memmingen in the German Ladies’ Ice Hockey Association (DFEL). She had 16 objectives and 52 focuses in 79 vocation games with the Huskies.

Voigt, a 20-year-old forward from Cologne, is going to start her lesser season with St. Cloud State. She has played for Germany multiple times in the IIHF Big showdowns. She has three objectives and six focuses in 62 vocation games with the Huskies.

During the instructional course, the Germans will participate in a four-country competition with France, Slovakia and Hungary. Germany plays France on Aug. 29, Slovakia on Aug. 30 and Hungary on Aug. 31.

“We are really glad to finish the primary instructional meeting of the time with 28 competitors and to invite our players from the European associations and North America,” German public mentor Jeff MacLeod said in a news discharge. “We are particularly satisfied to invite two capable rookies from the U18 public group to our positions.

“The instructing group will lead video meetings and ice preparing to show the players the group design, strategies and individual abilities. We will set a far reaching image of every player up to then pursue the choice on which crew we need to contend with at the four countries competition. These worldwide matches will permit us to gain ground under serious circumstances with the group creation and the advancement of our group structure.”
